"Your life is defined by what you believe" Lisa left-Eye Lopez before she died. I thought quote was very interesting and really very true...
I left Buenos Aires about a week early... I ran out of money... Lorine and I needed a break from each other. Before we left we had the opportunity to be on a local Argentine television program called "Cameras Testigos" which was a reality show of sorts. On this program Lorine and I were supposed to be tourists from America (we played the part well) who were supposed to ask the local people of San Antonio de Arreco about the culrure of their holiday 25 de Mayo which was the beginning date of the warwhich led to their independance day 9 de Julio which is close to our 4th of July. Anyway after a long day of taping we ended up at the estancia "La Bamba" where we were serenaded by gauchos singing typical Argentine songs. After awhile Lorine and I had a Q and A sessions with the singing gauchos and the audience that was watching them, cameras rolling of course. After a few questions the gauchos wanted to teach us a typical Argentine dance which was very interesting. My dancing skills are not very good so I was running around clapping my hands like a circus clown. After the dancing the gauchos wanted us to teach them a typical "American" dance...an "American" dance? Lorine gets the idea of the electric slide...and that is what we did. Lorine taught gauchos in typical Argentine clothes are doing the electric slide...priceless.
Now, well back in the United States and am heading off to Eastern Missouri to see some cousins that I have not seen in a really long time. It has been good to be home, be with the people that I identify most with. I am not sure why I have this love/hate thing with Missouri. I love it but I hate it as well. Being home has been good, I might have found a job which is really awesome. This summer I am not going to allow myself to work the entire summer away but I am going to use it to enjoy my family and friends.
