A Polital thought...

I have been told that the two issues not to be discussed between people are politics and religion, well I am going to give my two cents on politics as seen from my point of view. First off, I must say that I am a huge supporter of Barack Obama, but my co-workers (God bless them) are McCain supporters to each his/her own I guess. It is unfortunate that the other day I was told that, I was young and naive and not informed about the ways of world-I beg to differ. As for my own credentials I have been a high school and college debater and have debated foreign policy for many years, I read many articles from conservative and liberal view points, and I watch the news and hear the debates. I understand more than one might think and frankly it is down right insulting for one to insinuate because of youth that equals un-informed.

Before the presidential debate this evening I was discussing politics etc. I made a point that I support the troops but I do not support the war in Iraq. I told this to a co-worker and they got offended for some reason. so as I say I do suport troops period. However, someone tried to make the point that not only are we fighting for our freedom as Americans from terrosim but we are doing a humanitarian work for the people of Iraq. Yes, I agree saving people from tyranny is very nobel but I think the real reason that we are in Iraq is oil. Lets think about it Africa is destroying itself internally with civial war and AIDS and do you see the US spending 14 billion a month for humanitarian efforts? Here is my theory Iraq equals oil period. One more thing to consider, Africa equals diamonds period. If the US intervened then the US would no longer recieve blood diamonds because they are dependant upon civil war and death, that is why the US government does not interfere. Obama said it- we need to put our us dollars in other places; other countries like Pakistan and North Korea to find Al Quida and in the US. Education- if we lack education as a country than we will fail.

Again, this is only my opinion but Ifeel that we should listen to the arguments of the canidates and not vote conservative because you have always voted it. Vote the way you want but make sure you know the issues. Democrate or Republican something HAS to CHANGE.
