Jeannine Blankinship Photography and Gallery

A few days ago I found the old route 66 that goes through Carthage and decided to take it-I was actually trying to find a new bicycle route to take besides my old one and I stumbled on an old delapated house and I drove home and grabbed my camera. The pictures turned out great so I decided to do a series of pictures of old forgotten buildings. It is kind of strange because people used to live in these abandonded places, used to live there, get gas there; now they are overgrown and forgotten. I am doing this series to bring light to the old and forgotten. It is strange because it is almost as if by the pictures we can imagine what these spaces were. I took some pictures of an out-of-business gas station and took a pic of Adam, so there he is. As it goes all of the series will be done in black and white. Black and whites I think have so much depth that color photos just don't have sometimes. they portray such a story with a pictures.

In a couple of weeks I will be opening Jeannine Blankinship Photography and Gallery Studio in Monett. Sure, I still want to do most of my shooting outside of a studio but sometimes you just need a studio set up. Anyway, this studio is cool because it is also a gallery so will showcase works that I have done. If I can set it up right, I'll have a gratiffi wall so people can paint while they wait. As for now the studio will open be open for appointments only-can't quit the day job just yet.

peace, love, and rock and roll

Jeannine
