"To change the world...first step is hardest of all"

Last night was the opening of "The Local Art show" which was also my cheapest show to run and it had a great turnout. I had between 70-80 people which generally I have about 50 so that was pretty exciting! I also had alot of help with the show from Steve Brock and Mocha Joe's (the Berger family) made awesome hor dourves and they really have been a great help to the art effort. thanks I did decide to shorten my open hours to one day a week plus by appointment just so I don't get too burnt out and can work and still have shows etc.

Last week I finished school and I got a pretty good grade in my MAT program though unfortunately it doesn't transfer at all to the SEACT (Special Education Alternative Certification Master's program) which I will start in the Fall. I decided to switch because I just feel I would be more beneficial to the population I will be working with as I have been working with them for a few years now and really enjoy it. One really good thing that has come out of the MAT program though was that I met a person who has a great love of travel and a love for people and she suggested that we start a not-for-profit organization. The premise of the organization is education of underprivileged children in Central America. we have been in the process of finding a good organization to work with in Panama (an orphanage or something like one) where we will bring groups down- college kids probably and deliver educational supplies as well as shoes possibly etc. and work to teach English and do any labor projects that they may need.

I was chatting with Steve last night before the show started and he asked an all to familiar question of what I want to eventually do and honestly who really knows. What I do know is that my purpose on this earth is to be in the service of others. When I was at Pepperdine before I went in my freshmen year we had to write a paper about our "vocation"... seriously what 19 year old knows or cares...but now at (almost) 25 I think I finally understand the importance of the assignment...

Anyway, as I have said before I am a blessed person to have such great people in my life so hopefully I can return the favor to others.

Paz, Amor, y musica
