In less than a month I will be flying to Los Angeles to get on a plane to American Samoa to teach 2nd grade. I do not have any expectations simply because I do not know what to expect. My travels have mostly been condensed to spanish speaking countries in Central and South America. Plane ticket purchased, passport found (only natural it be lost--my last name is Blankinship) and well I have Many other things to do but I have about three weeks to find a placement for Jack and Nalla and get my stuff in a storage unit.
In retrospect six months is not so far away, but that did put moving plans to California on the back burner until I start Cal Lu in the Summer. This means the person that I am moving with has to chill in Missouri another six months even though she was ready to move in Jan. That's life and I think she understands that, but super happy she is a trooper.
My father is pretty excited that his youngest is going to be hanging with him, and we will be moving in a 2 bedroom apt once the new year starts. I hear that I am house sitting the month of December which is fine with me. Ole' pops and I plan on spending Christmas in Western Samoa which is where the more lushy beaches are. Pops says that we're going on a diet and says that if I attempt to go to Burger King (which is among only a few "americanized" fast food restrauntes) he will lock me out. Ha! so...we'll be eating fresh fish and rice and going to the gym...I could stand to lose a pound or two.
For the duration of my adventure in Samoa, I will be documenting and posting pictures on here often so if you're interested in cool photos and how school is coming along or just want to say "hello" that is cool too.
Peace, Love, Rock N' Roll,
Jeannine
