Tsunami's no new word to Samoa

It is funny, yesterday was a normal day, I taught at school, took a nap, and then went and ran with the U.S. military. Afterward, I went to the store purchased a Pepsi and began to write my evaulations that were due for school. At this point I had no clue what was happening in the world around me....only my world. Typically, I do not watch much television but for the writing process I am on of those that likes the background noise. At that point a Tsunami warning came on the screen for American Samoa. Not five minutes sooner my friend Tanner is the U.S. said something about a 9.0 massive earthquake in Japan and tsunami warnings for all of the Pacific. I said something to my dad and he confused it for another earthquake that had happened earlier. We changed the channel, turned on weather radios and sure enough the imagery on the television was that of pure devestation to our Pacific brothers and sisters. The experts say that the tusnami alone was as powerful as a nuclear explosion. If we remember correctly, an atomic level explosion happened in this century that was man-made and caused complete devestation in Japan. I find it ironic. That was a very long time ago, and there has since been appologies to our Pacific friends. I do find it very uplifting that our times now are not of hate and bringing of devestation that was faced during WWII but now a world coming together to help a country that had two major, profound, natural distatsers. We can offer our condolences to our Japenese friends, however, in this time where what matters is saving lives of people, getting supplies, and getting moving. We can do more than offer our sorrys, we can give money, we can do our part to help. CNN.com is offering not only monetary ways to help but many other ways to help and offer our services. check it out.
