Why are there shoes all over Am Sam

Why I am writing about this I am uncertain. Maybe it is my idle hands needing something to do, since I've stopped Facebook stalking Big Bird and Cookie Monster. As I go to school or the store or wherever, I always seem to find shoes in the middle of the road. This does more than confuse my brain but downright baffle me. I understand why a child's shoe would be in the middle of the road. Kid decides "no more shoes for me" weeee shoe flys out the window (hopefully hits that heinous dog in the face). Ok, scientific explanation for child's shoe in the street. Hmm, now to the baffling question, why is there a men's Nike size 10, decent shoe in the road. Did this man decide as he was riding in his car seat "no more shoes for me" weee and toss it out the window as he was drinking orange juice from his sippy cup. I hope not. Hmm so what else is the answer. Do shoes decide, "I've had enough of this ass" and walk them self to the middle of the street to be pooped on, heavily rained on, bumped into a pot hole? The only explanation is that they were washed out by the rain, even this makes no sense. American Samoa get great showers of rain, but does the rain enter the house and push the men's Nike size 10 into the street past the door, the driveway, the garage, the dog, and the trash can? I can fathom why there are shirts in the road (though disturbs me greatly that there is a shirt in the road for pure order sake). I get that, a man playing rugby or whatever takes his shirt off, leaves it, now it is in a pool of poo. I even get trash on the road, we all know you just toss your trash out the window as you don't need it duh (sarcasm)! So that brings us back to the daunting question, why are there nice shoes, not throw away mow your lawn shoes, but your go to work shoes in the middle of our pot hole filled Samoan Streets?
